Jennet -- a young and thirsty lactose-intolerant -- didn't love almond milk. She found it weirdly thick and the taste was either too sweet or...gross. One day she learned how to make it the old-fashioned way, at home. It tasted...good. Really good. It was just almonds and water.

What the heck was in all those other milks that made them taste so different? With a little research she learned the milk she'd been drinking was full of the thickeners and preservatives -- and had hardly ANY almonds! Within weeks she decided she wanted to make this homemade, nutritious and delicious plant milk available to her community.
